Very efficient company to deal with. Booked through agency and this proved no big deal for counter staff who were understanding and didn't try and sell their own insurance. Car excellent with only 1100kms on it. Thoroughly recommend…..must check for spare next time as there wasn't one or an inflator kit either

Working in the same business so it's easy for me to say that Centauro is a great company. Easy to book online and easy to find, full insurance is cheap, car is new and very cheap to run and I did over 1500 km in Portugal in 5 days!!!. No complaints and no issues whatsoever. The shuttle service was efficient and fast! The staff was lovely and friendly! Thank you centauro, Nuno and Ricardo and I will use you again in Portugal and all around Europe!

I had a fantastic experience with Centauro Porto. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews, but Maria reassured us and recommended the zero-excess cover, which turned out to be a great choice. We rented a Nissan Juke automatic for six days at just €110 with zero excess through the Centauro website—an incredibly competitive price. The car was nearly new, with only 8,000 km on the odometer, and it was spotless and in perfect condition. The airport shuttle was prompt, arriving within five minutes. Returning the car was just as seamless—no hassle at all. The only check they performed was to ensure the fuel level matched what it was at pickup. I highly recommend Centauro and their zero-excess cover for anyone concerned about hidden charges. The toll device in the car made passing through toll booths effortless. A huge thanks to Maria for her excellent service!

Everything was perfect! Really great stuff. Pick up and drop off in just a few minutes, really great! We've got even better car than we requested. Car was new and in perfect condition. Credit card and security deposit are not required. You need to pay for the half fuel tank price (63EUR) and if you return it the same level you get it refunded (refund was made in 1 business day). I would recommend that rent a car agency to everyone!

How to pay

  • What are the different ways I can pay for my car hire?

    1.   Payment by Credit or Debit Card:  payment can be made using a credit/debit card (Visa/Visa Electron or Mastercard) either via our web site or on collection of the vehicle. You need to know that there will be a deposit applicable if you do not choose the Smart cover. The deposit will be refunded to you at the end of the rental if there is no new damage made to the car. For Portugal, a 100€ deposit will be charged to your debit or credit card to cover possible Via Verde toll charges. Debit cards must be nominative. If you have prepaid on the web for your vehicle you must use the same credit/debit (Visa/Visa Electron o Mastercard) when picking up the car. At our Athens & Thessaloniki offices, we only accept payment with a credit card.

    2.   Cash payment: we accept cash for your car hire in Spain and Portugal (Italy and Greece cash is not accepted). In these cases, and as a guarantee, you are required to leave a deposit for the excess applicable to the vehicle given using a credit card (NOT DEBIT).

    We do not accept prepaid cards, American Express, Maestro or Diners Club.

  • Can I pay with my credit card if I am not the person who picks up the car?

    No, the driver must present a valid credit or debit card in their name on collecting the vehicle.
