Car itinerary through Andalusia

Taking a road trip through Andalusia could be the perfect plan for a winter getaway. Below, we recommend some itineraries that you can enjoy on your road trip through the south of Spain

Car itinerary through Seville

If you plan to travel around Andalusia by car, it’s best to start in the capital: Seville. Rent your car at Seville Airport or at Seville - Santa Justa  train station and set off to explore one of Spain's most popular destinations.

This city has everything you are hoping for: art, history and charming squares that will leave you wanting to come back... and not only that, in Seville the cuisine is second to none.  Are you eager to get started? We recommend that you enjoy the old town on foot, stroll through the Santa Cruz district, wander along the winding streets of the Jewish quarter, Plaza Nueva and the maze of alleyways that lead to Plaza del Duque.

Let’s make a stop on the way to visit the Cathedral of Seville. Did you know that it is the world’s largest cathedral?  Next to it stands the famous Giralda, the bell tower that is the symbol of the city, along with its unmistakable orange tree courtyard. Without straying too far, we recommend a stop at the Reales Alcázares, a palace complex from the Middle Ages with vestiges of Islamic, Christian and Mudejar art, which is also the residence of the King and Queen of Spain when they visit the city. Don’t miss it on your car itinerary through Seville.  Plaza de España and Maria Luisa Park are two of the city’s most fascinating spots. Stop to admire their undeniable beauty before setting off for our next destination.

Car itinerary through Malaga

Pack your bags, we're going to drive from Seville to Malaga in our Centauro rental car. The city of the gods, as the Nobel prize-winning poet Vicente Aleixandre called it, is another place where the sun always prevails even during the winter. Enter the city through La Alameda and discover the Cathedral of Malaga, the Muslim Alcazaba or the recently renovated spa Baños del Carmen.

Drive to Muelle Uno and Soho, two shopping centers that will offer you a different, innovative Malaga full of shops of all kinds where you can enjoy the city. From there you will want drive just a few minutes further to towns on the Costa del Sol like Marbella or X, or enjoy an adventure among natural landscapes and villages full of personality in the Mountains of Ronda or Setenil de las Bodegas.

Car itinerary through Granada

After we leave Malaga behind, the next destination on our road trip is none other than Granada, one of the most visited cities in Spain, and no wonder... the Alhambra and its Generalife gardens, as well as the history that remains embodied within their walls, are sure to make a powerful impression on you.

Take a stroll through the charming streets of Granada and discover its most popular districts, Albaicín and Sacromonte. Only 15 kilometers away is the start of the road that will take you to the Alpujarra where you will find villages like Pampaneira and further on, Baza or X waiting for you. We highly recommend driving along the coast of Granada to enjoy its tropical climate. After that, set off for Almuñecar, where summer has already arrived. If skiing is your passion, then pay a visit to the Sierra Nevada where you can relish the last snowflakes with the onset of spring.

After enjoying the art and history of Granada, we set out for Almeria, known for its more than 200km of unspoiled beaches, fine sand and hidden coves, on the shores of the Mediterranean.  In the capital, we highly recommend the cathedral district and the guitar museum.
