Star gazing route of Sierra Morena

Many centuries ago, this region was a land of outlaws, today, Sierra Morena is one of the best destinations for astronomers and those who love to stargaze.

We will start our route in Linares, a pretty little village in Jaen where each year they ‘light candles for Cástulo’ which is a tribute to the remains of the important Iberian city once there. On the road again and we reach the picturesque village of Montoro in Cordoba and take a stroll through the ragged streets lined with white houses that overlook the Guadalquivir.  A mandatory place to stop? The restaurant ‘Belsay’ and its famous ‘Salmorejo Cordobés ‘(Purée consisting of tomato & bread).

And from Córdoba to…Seville, where we can spend the night observing the sky from the Natural Monument ‘Cerro del Hierro’, an ideal place to lose yourself. Located between the towns of San Nicolás del Puerto & Constatina.

Our last stop is the impressive mountain region of Sierra de Aracena with a town of the same name. Time to relax and enjoy the area famous for its typical Spanish Ham ‘Jabugo’.
